Pikelets Recipe

Pikelets are small, round, and slightly sweetened treats that are incredibly versatile. They can be enjoyed in various ways, whether served sweet or savory. Pikelets make a delightful addition to breakfast, served with jam, honey, or a dollop of cream. Equally, they shine as an afternoon tea treat or a satisfying evening snack. The batter typically includes flour, milk, eggs, and baking powder, creating a light and fluffy texture.

Notes & Tips

Baking soda is also often called bicarbonate of soda, but they are the same thing.

For a sweet twist, top your pikelets with fresh berries, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar. Alternatively, go savory by topping them with smoked salmon, cream cheese, or a dollop of pesto.
